WHAT IS LIMINAL CENTRE?
Liminal Centre is a new kind of creative space: part production studio, part community clubhouse, part experimental lab.
Located at Apiary Studios in Hackney, we are building a brand and cultural platform that brings together hybrid production, media experimentation, artistic residencies, and participatory events.

We serve a mix of independent creators, producers, artists, and brand collaborators, from experimental filmmakers to experiential marketers.
Our members and partners use Liminal Centre for hybrid production labs, photo/video shoots, workshops, salons, performances, and more. The space itself is a stage for innovative and community-driven cultural programming.
WHAT IS THE LAB TECHNICIANS ROSTER?
We’re building a shortlist of skilled freelance Lab Technicians who will be on-call for project-specific assignments.
By applying to join our roster you will be considered for both paid productions run by the studio and its members, as well as on commercial client work, and community art projects.
WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE?
On-Set VFX Supervision: Ensure shoots are optimally set up for seamless AI-enhanced post-production.
Lighting & Technical Setups: Design and operate lighting configurations, troubleshooting technical challenges on set.
AI Workflow Management: Guide teams through effective use of tools like Runway, ComfyUI, Veo, Sora, and Pika, ensuring smooth integration between physical production and AI post-processing.
Prototyping & R&D: Experiment with new AI tools and workflows, documenting best practices for repeatability.
Studio & Equipment Management: Collaborate with our Studio Manager to maintain and configure studio spaces and equipment for optimal project readiness.

WHAT BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE, HARD AND SOFT SKILLS ARE IDEAL?
3+ years experience in video production, VFX, or AI-enhanced post-production
Strong knowledge of modern AI tools (e.g., Runway, ComfyUI, Veo, Pika, Sora)
Solid understanding of lighting and camera techniques for VFX
Experience troubleshooting and creatively solving on-set technical issues
Comfortable working closely with artists, filmmakers, and experimental creators
